Copyright, creativity and innovation in the world of content and technology
The arrival of the internet and new technologies has revolutionized artistic creation and the contents industry. There are now more opportunities than ever before to make people aware of creative works and reaching a broader, global public has never been easier. However, new challenges have arisen to protect these creations.
In the current digital environment, it is essential to ensure that intellectual property rights are adequately protected in a way that encourages creation and the promotion of culture, as well as the development of what is a key industry for a country’s economy.
In order to share ideas, discuss proposals and analyze in detail the opportunities provided by the combination of technology and the contents industry, above all from an economic standpoint, the forum ‘Copyright, Creativity and Innovation’ has been created, comprising the top companies in both fields, namely Google, Grupo Planeta, Telefónica, BRB Internacional and Centro de Estudios Garrigues.
The first seminar in this new forum will take place next Friday June 6 and will get underway with a talk by the Harvard professor Felix Oberholzer, IP specialist. This will be followed by a round table, chaired by Ángel Durández, in which well-known experts in these areas will participate, such as Carmen Posadas, Miguel Peguera, Carlos Rodríguez Braun and Emilio Ontiveros, who will offer participants the benefit of their experience and insight.
