Against piracy on the internet, “Follow the Money”
Creative industries play a key role in a country’s economy. The arrival of the internet and new technologies has had a huge impact on these industries, not only increasing both the opportunities available and the number of people reached, but also, conversely, making it easier for third parties to unlawfully access content protected by copyright.
Faced with this situation, both public and private entities that deal with contents and technology have joined forces to try to prevent those who unlawfully use third-party protected content from profiting from such use. This strategy, known as “Follow the Money”, seeks to help protect property rights on the internet.
In order to analyze this concept, schemes underway and its practical use, the Copyright, Creativity and Innovation forum, with the collaboration of IAB Spain, has organized the seminar “Follow the Money”, a successful strategy to combat piracy.
The event, which is due to take place next Tuesday September 29 at our Madrid office, aims to open up new channels of discussion in the fight against piracy and to analyze the opportunities for collaboration between the public and private sectors from an economic standpoint. The complete program and registration information can be found at the following link.
The Copyright, Creativity and Innovation forum, comprised of the leading contents’ and technology companies, aspires to be an area in which ideas, debates and proposals can be analyzed and generated regarding the opportunities resulting from interaction between the culture industry and technology.
